Most people learn to read and write, and then they fall in love with stories. For me, the opposite was true. I fell in love with stories first.

When I discovered that the words created something — they told powerful stories — I fell in love with their ability to sharpen the truth and weave compassion into the hearts of readers.

Since those first moments of enchantment, writing has been at the center of my life. I worked at independent bookshops, received a liberal arts degree from Davidson College, studied and taught English abroad, and assisted some of the greatest minds in academia — all while writing on the side.

In 2014, I struck out on my own to make this vocation my career.
